About Drumsna Plant Hire Contractors
Drumsna Plant Hire Contractors was founded by Peter Mc Loughlin Snr. in 1968. Our family business originally commenced work for farmers and on trial land reclamation projects for the Department of Agriculture. Over the past 52 years, our company has worked for Building Contractors on small, medium and large scale projects which include, Domestic Housing, Schools, FireStations, HSE Hospital Extensions, Tesco and Public works. We have completed numerous Wind Farm Projects and Civil ground works. We have worked for various Local Authorities on bulk excavation and services projects e.g. Athlone By-pass, Carrick-on-Shannon By-pass, Drumsna By-pass.
Drumsna Plant Hire machinery ranges and varies in size from 3-40 tonne Hitachi, Komatsu and Cat Excavators. Our Employees are fully trained and qualified with all the necessary Skills Cards as required under Health and Safety Guidelines.
Over the years, we have worked with Commercial Forestry businesses like Coillte and Woodland, giving our company excellent working knowledge of all aspects of Forestry work. Drumsna Plant Hire is renowned for completion of road construction contracts, gravel supplies, forestry mounding and fire belt creation. We have skilled chainsaw operators, robust, long reach Genie Man-Lifts, pole saws and hedge cutters. All Excavators can be fully equipped with timber grabs and thumbs to handle timber safely.
Recent Projects: Coillte, Woodland, Center Parcs, Longford and Sligo N4 Project for main Contractor Road Bridge.
We are young people with years of experience through the family business, and take pride in providing the same and much-improved service as Peter Mc Loughlin Snr. has done over the past 50 years.
We pride ourselves being the only registered owner of Volvo Articulated 6×6 Dumpers in the North-West.
We use biodegradable oil in our machines to prevent damage to our environment.
We have a tool hire company run by Peter Mc Loughlin Jnr who is fully insured when required.
We have a hybrid excavator in our fleet to be greener and hope to introduce many more in the future.
Our team consists of Civil, QS, Mechanical and Electronic Engineers with training in PSCS and traffic management.
